HE SHOT ME DOWN, BANG-BANG
A lot of you may have noticed that since the update Grindr has been out of service. For me this occurrence went all the way from a minor irritation, to a real pain, to an absolute holiday in a matter of hours. No more endlessly checking for notifications, no more pressure to reply to those overtly confident; keyboard happy try-hard’s, no more broken dreams (deep!) and no more ‘hi, im gd thnx u?’
Ill be honest and tell you that I prefer but ill be equally honest when I tell you that homophobic homosexuals really piss me off.
I hear phrases like ‘no camps’ thrown around all too often when the truth is really we all have masculine and feminine elements; some we share, some we hide and some we are yet to discover even for ourselves.
Being ‘camp or ‘straight acting’ is a greyscale (keyword there) just like being ‘black’ or ‘white’ or ‘top’ or ‘bottom’,we all have the same tools, no? It is in my mind the combination of these elements that make the person who they are or at least who they portray themselves to be!
That PROFILE you rejected could of been the PERSON you fell for and that person you fall for is going to change, a relationship is compromise; maybe Grindr and its many, many counterparts take away the need for that compromise and if so are we effectively all escorts caught up in some big online bring and buy sale?
Ultimately I think we need to start talking to each other and stop tick boxing each other; even If it is really fun :)…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgmMp9HdlF
